Free PDF Tools — Merge, Split, Compress, Convert & More

Merge or split PDFs here, or open the linked PDF utilities. Local processing without an account; supported features and device-memory limits apply.

Why this matters

Use Merge to combine PDFs in the displayed order, or Split to extract selected pages or download each page separately. Both operations use pdf-lib locally. Files with encryption, unusual features, or large memory requirements may not be supported; keep the originals and inspect the downloaded copy.

The cards below open separate tools for structural re-saving, rotation and image conversion. Their controls differ. Structural re-saving does not downsample scans or guarantee a smaller file, and local processing does not mean the page makes no dependency or analytics requests.

Example tasks: combine receipts, extract a report section, rotate a document, or render pages as images. Check each tool's stated scope instead of assuming every PDF operation is available.

Drop PDFs into the box or choose files. They merge in the displayed selection order; drag reordering is not implemented. Clear and select files again to change the order.

    About these PDF tools

The local utilities process selected files on your device. Pages still download libraries and may load analytics; some tools load workers when first used, so offline operation is not guaranteed. Use Merge and Split above, or choose a separate utility below. See the privacy policy for network and data-handling details.

Every tool runs in your browser. Files never leave your device.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Are my files uploaded?

The local merge/split and linked utility tools process your selected files in the browser. External AI services have separate data practices and may require uploading files to their servers.

Do I need to create an account?

No. All tools are free, no signups, no email required.

Is there a file size limit?

Available memory, browser limits and document complexity determine what can be processed. There is no guaranteed supported maximum. Start with a small example and retain the original.

Why use these instead of a desktop app?

Privacy — your files stay local. Convenience — no install. Speed — opens in a tab, ready to use.

What's the difference between the utility tools and the AI tools?

Utility tools (merge, split, compress, etc.) modify your PDF directly in the browser. AI tools (ChatPDF, PDF.ai, etc.) let you ask questions about your document and get intelligent answers. Use utilities for editing, AI tools for understanding.
