Convert a supported HEIC/HEIF still image on your device. Choose JPEG or PNG, inspect the preview, then download individual results or a batch ZIP without an account.
Convert supported still images, then inspect the result
The decoder runs in a local worker and is downloaded from this site only when conversion starts. Selected files are not uploaded to a conversion service. Shared page assets and analytics still make ordinary requests.
This first release exports the primary top-level still image when identified, otherwise the first decodable entry. It does not export a complete image collection, Live Photo video, depth maps, or all HDR/color/metadata features. JPEG uses a white background for transparency. Inspect orientation, color and detail rather than assuming pixel-perfect or lossless conversion.
Choose local HEIC/HEIF files
Up to 10 files, 20 MB per file and 100 MB combined. Decoded still images are limited to 32 million pixels and 10,000 pixels on either edge before full pixel allocation. Device memory can impose lower limits. AVIF and video are not accepted by this page.
PNG ignores JPEG quality. Width reduction preserves aspect ratio approximately to whole pixels. Changing settings clears previous results. Decoder support and color/orientation handling vary; conversion may fail for a particular HEIF variant.
Choose a file. No decoder is loaded until conversion starts.
Per-file results
Results are kept in this page until cleared. Download links do not prove a file was saved. ZIP export requires at least two successful results; archives use unique filenames. Total retained results and ZIP input are limited to 100 MB.
Know what is being exported
HEIF is a container and can contain multiple images or use different codecs. The tool reports the number of top-level still images and whether it found a primary image. It exports only one image per input file, not a full collection or Live Photo motion. AVIF is intentionally excluded from this page. Unsupported or corrupt inputs are reported per file.
Orientation, color and metadata
The decoder can apply supported container transformations, and you can add a manual quarter-turn. Inspect the preview rather than assuming every orientation tag is supported. JPEG/PNG output is not a preservation copy of original HDR, wide-gamut profiles, camera metadata or auxiliary images. Keep your original; conversion is not a metadata-redaction guarantee.
Engine and a checking workflow
The pinned libheif-js decoder runs in a worker hosted by this site. See the HEIC conversion checklist for inspecting formats, multi-image files and downloads. Decoder attribution and license/source information are included with the self-hosted assets.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Input files are sent to a local worker, not a conversion server. The decoder and optional ZIP library download from this site. Shared page assets and analytics make separate ordinary requests.
Can I convert every HEIC file?
No. Container variants, codecs, transformations and device memory can prevent conversion. The tool has input/output limits and a per-file timeout, and does not fall back to uploading files elsewhere.
Does it preserve Live Photos and all images?
No. It exports a primary top-level still image when identified, or a first-image fallback. Other images, motion, depth and HDR/gain-map features are not a complete exported collection.
How does Cancel work?
Cancel terminates the decoding worker, including initialization. ZIP cancellation is checked between reads and progress updates; an in-progress memory read may finish. Existing completed results can remain available. Clear removes current files and result URLs, not downloads already saved.
